Phil is an independent advisor to organisations operating, or evaluating opportunities, in the areas of batteries, hydrogen, and fuel cells. He has extensive experience in the field of fuel cell technology having spent over a decade in senior technical and operational roles. In 1995, Phil was one of the founders of UK university spin-out Advanced Power Sources Ltd, and then later became executive director at PEM fuel cell company Intelligent Energy having been part of their original start-up team in 2001, he also held the position of Research and Development Manager at Innogy Technology Ventures Ltd, directing activities in redox flow systems and hydrogen technologies at facilities in the UK and the US.
Prior to this, building on an academic background, Phil established and managed the Electrochemical Technologies consulting group based at Loughborough University, providing technology advisory and contract research services for clients in the automotive, defence systems, manufacturing, and power utilities industries around the world.
